Stick & Stone was an ancient navigational tool — small stones and sticks used to point toward the stars. Star Whale is a deep voyage toward those stars.

How These Posts Are Made
Most posts here start from one question: why that number? Exam preparation keeps producing constants you memorize without knowing where they came from — the 36.8 percent left after one air change, the 5.5 in the fire duration formula, the 132 in ASTM E662. Tracing each one back to its source is what became these posts.
Three rules apply whenever a figure or a standard is cited.
- Open the source document. Korea’s national law database, NFPA, ISO and IEC, EUR-Lex, the US OSHA, EPA, NIST and eCFR, ICAO, and papers on PubMed are opened directly and the figures checked against the clause itself.
- No link for what could not be verified. When access is blocked and the original could not be opened, the document is named without a link, and the post says it was not verified. Nothing is cited as if it had been read when it was not.
- Language models are used, and said to be used. Drafting and structuring rely on a language model. Figures, sources and legal clauses are checked against the originals by a human before publishing. The publishing process itself is documented in Dev Notes.

Analytics
The Site uses Umami for visitor statistics. Umami runs on the operator’s own server and sends no data to an outside vendor. It sets no cookies and does not identify individuals; it records only the page path, referrer, browser type and approximate country.
Processors We Use
The following services are used to operate the Site, and access information may pass through them.
- Cloudflare — domain, CDN and security. Visitor IP and request data pass through it.
- Akismet — comment spam filtering. A commenter’s name, email, IP and comment text are sent for classification.
- Wordfence — security firewall. Visitor IP and related data are processed to block attacks.
- Google AdSense — advertising. See the Third-Party Advertising section above.
Retention and Deletion
Comments and inquiries are deleted within a reasonable period once their purpose is fulfilled. Security access logs are kept for a limited time and then removed.
