Appendix to the ‘Blog Monetization’ series. ← Previous: The Responsibility of Monetizing

Summary

  • The main 11 parts dug deep into five core tracks (ads, affiliates, support, digital products, newsletters).
  • This appendix spreads out more channels beyond them as a single map.
  • Ad alternatives, direct sales like courses and ebooks, using your blog as a portfolio, and cross-posting.
  • You do not need them all. Pick the one or two that fit your assets (knowledge, skill, relationships).

Beyond the Core, a Wider Map

There are more channels than you would think. But more is not always better. The right path depends on the assets you hold.

This appendix is like a map showing “these paths exist too.” Not to walk them all, but to choose your own.

Ads — Beyond AdSense

AdSense is not the only ad option. Korea has Kakao AdFit and Dable, and as traffic grows you can move to higher-paying networks.

  • Kakao AdFit — Korean display ads, runs alongside AdSense
  • Ezoic, Raptive, Mediavine — higher rates, but with monthly-visit requirements
  • Taboola, Outbrain — recommended-content native ads

Selling Content Directly

Turn the knowledge piled up on your blog into courses, ebooks, and templates. A step past Gumroad (Part 9): platforms that bring the audience too.

  • Courses — Inflearn, Class101 (Korea), Udemy (global)
  • Ebooks — Bookk, Ridi self-publishing (Korea), Amazon KDP (global)
  • Templates & assets — Notion templates, Creative Market

Your Blog as a Portfolio

The blog itself becomes proof of skill and pulls in work. Well-built posts are your business card.

  • Freelance — Kmong, Soomgo (Korea), Fiverr, Upwork (global)
  • Consulting, coaching, talks — your know-how, one-on-one or for companies

Community and Cross-Posting

Gather relationships, and widen the same post across channels.

  • Paid community — Discord memberships, paid chat groups
  • Cross-posting — Medium, Naver influencer, YouTube tie-ins
  • Crowdfunding — Tumblbug, Wadiz (project-based)

How to Choose

Your assets are the criterion. Deep knowledge → courses and ebooks; visible skill → freelance and consulting; tight relationships → community and support.

Spreading thin makes everything mediocre. Pick one, go deep, then widen. The blog is the shared starting point for all of them.

With the main 11 parts and this appendix, the Blog Monetization series is complete.
